Synopsis
Continuing his cinephile odyssey from THE STORY OF FILM, Mark Cousins embarks a new journey towards 21st Century cinema. With the new age comes the new ideas and new technologies. Film is always about pushing past the existing limits of imagination, just as how BLACK PANTHER and JOKER has transformed what it means for a superhero (or supervillain) movie. In the last decade, films have been filled with innovations. The addition of technologies like VR and 3D further enhances our sensorial experience. The emergence of feminist ideas also draws many film directors’ attention to what was once the second sex and the ignored minority. Through restless transmutation, film will build a path towards the future as a unique art form.
