Asia Pacific Queer Film Festival Alliance Shorts (HKLGFF 2016)

The Asia Pacific Queer Film Festival Alliance is a new alliance consisting of fourteen Asian queer film festivals. The aim of the alliance is to promote and support queer Asian films, among members of the Asian Pacific region as well as film festivals in the West. Each festival selects a lineup of shorts, which have been shown and created by the other member countries and showcase them in their festival under the title of Asia Pacific Queer Film Festival Alliance Shorts. An award will be given to the best Asia-Pacific short, chosen by the members.

Here is the Asia Pacific Queer Film Festival Alliance selection from their members’ list of films:

1. A Straight Journey: Days and Nights in Their Kingdom

Two photographers took a journey across 11 cities in China, making portraits of gays and lesbians and their families. A short film was made during the journey, documenting their untold stories for the first time.

A vampire bites a taxi driver. Going back home drowsily and sleeping all day, the driver involuntarily dreams about the vampire biting and devouring him. He can’t help but goes back to the place where he was bitten, from day to night, he waits for the vampire.

5. Soulmates
