Fresh Wave 2015 Select 2

Although the curtain of Fresh Wave 2015 International Short Film Festival has fallen, the life of the 34 participating local short films will continue. In the aftermath of the festival, semi-final adjudicators Amos Why and Ying Liang are asked to select four of their favourites. We compile their choices respectively as two special screenings, we hope their selections will bring audience a deeper and fresher understanding of the films.
Blade of Enforcer appears to be an imitation of the wuxia genre films, but the film itself is a result of dedication and self-challenge. The storytelling in An Indigo is skillful and self-aware, and its cinematography, editing, sound and production design are equally outstanding. Ali and Me may be overlooked as a simple film, but the filmmaker’s honesty and genuineness leave their marks on the film. Stray Cat utilizes the location creatively, and the actresses achieve certain subtly in their performance.
