Wong Ka Yan (bc Sunday)

“Wong Ka Yan” is set in 1992 Hong Kong, when social media hasn’t become part of everyday reality. The music-loving Chun Yin (Wong You-Nam) lives in Peng Chau, an idyllic island of Hong Kong. At the box office the theater in the city, he falls in love with “Wong Ka Yan,” who sells movie tickets. But when he returns to the theater the next day, his “lady” has quit her job. As a result, Chun Yin embarks on a journey looking for “Wong Ka Yan.” He plays the guitar while singing, calls in radio station, consults Yellow Pages, and meets several “Wong Ka Yan”s, among whom the Number 57 Wong Ka Yan (Karena Ng) both undermines and helps him search for his “Wong Ka Yan.”
