In Caged Dog , a model student living in poverty, Jie volunteers to mentor Ah-he and discovers that he is taking care of the stray dog that has been caged by the troublemakers. Whispers in the Belly, director Bobby YU Shuk-pui, brings her family’s story to the silver screen. With real-life family members appearing on screen, the film examines intergenerational conflict through the lens of the young. Side A: A Summer Day has swept different best short film awards. It uses the two-sided structure of a tape to compare reality and illusion, and once again tells a story based on his own family, who are Chinese immigrants from India.
