Voted by IndieWire as one of the 25 LGBTQ filmmakers to watch out for, Finnish writer-director Mikko Makela returns to the big screen with a candid reflection of being young and gay in modern-day London. The charming and handsome Ruaridh Mollica plays 24-year-old aspiring novelist Max, whose lust for success leads him to live a double life: magazine writer by day and sex worker Sebastian by night. What begins as research for his debut novel quickly unravels into an adventitious journey of self-discovery and liberation, challenging Max to face his real identity and societal conventions as his two worlds collide. Packed with heady sex scenes, Makela's sophomore feature is a tender and unaffected exploration of creativity, sexuality, and personal growth.
