Synopsis
The epiphany of realizing “You either leave it to chance or design what you want” changed the life of design motivator Bruce Mau.

Mau is the portrait of a man with many passions: a designer, a design motivator, and a sustainability motivator. In the film, Mau himself reflects on the road that was and occasionally continues to be bumpy, speaking of his past as a victim of domestic violence and how the notion of design changed his perception. Mau shares the opportunities presented by Coca-Cola and city planners from Mecca that were then boxed away. Yet, his infectiously positive attitude proved his growth mindset of moving forward.

Directed by Austrian filmmaker brother duo Benjamin and Jono Bergmann, this genre-bending documentary interrogates what it means to be a man of big ideas and the promise of design.
