Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition (MOViE MOViE: Life is Art 2023)

Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer continues to stand as one of the greatest artists of all time. However, his clever usage of light and form and creation of domestic scenes did not gain fame until the late 19th century, two centuries after his death. Today, admirers and appreciators of Vermeer’s trek across the globe with the yearning of seeing his works in the flesh.

In 2023, Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam held a once-in-a-lifetime Vermeer exhibition, and tickets sold out instantly. Displaying 28 artworks including Woman Holding a Balance, The Milkmaid and the iconic Girl with a Pearl Earring, this documentary gives art lovers a chance to peruse the brilliance of Vermeer without having to travel to the Netherlands. The film takes audiences on an elegant tour through the museum with melodious commentary as the backdrop. On the big screen, this unprecedented tour becomes a one-of-a-kind immersive cinematic experience.
