    Synopsis
Forum, Berlin International Film Festival Grand Prize, International Competition, Jeonju International Film Festival
Tokyo FILMeX International Film Festival
The plot of the film is as refined and simple as its title suggests: a young woman from Tokyo wandering around a suburban town where she encounters a man skimming stones by the river and spends time with him until dusk falls. The film does not follow the conventional narrative of the walk-and-talk films, which are rife with pugilistic repartee between strangers. Tatsunari Ota’s second feature film gives the audiences a meditative viewing experience to focus on small things in our daily life and reorients our expectations towards chance encounters.
