Synopsis
“Experience is priceless. If only they could share more and more about culture and film!”- Edward Lam

Born out of Edward Lam’s vision for cultural conservation, this is a series of in-depth interviews with Elaine Jin, Louise Lee and Sylvia Cheung, three Hong Kong actresses whose film and television careers are part of a fascinating history. As forebearers, could they be eternal muses for up-and-coming actresses of the next generation? For example: Wong Wing-sze, who plays the dual role of mother and actress; Margaret Cheung, going into acting with a start in singing; and Birdy Wong, who embodies the spirit of a young girl fighter.

Each film was shot in one long take with four cameras recording the conversations in real time. As the cameras moved impromptu, the image composition shifted constantly to convey the kaleidoscopic development of the relationship between the interviewer and the interviewee. Here, Edward Lam weaves together threads of ideas, supplementing additional reminders and contexts to the sharers and observers.

The exchanges, once deemed suitable only for viewing on the small screen, are brought onto the cinematic silver screen. Sh(ar)e on the big screen will be a unique film viewing experience – what are the chances for Elaine Jin × Wong Wing-sze, Sylvia Chang × Margaret Cheung Louise Lee × Birdy Wong to be, talk about and share themselves up close and unfiltered?
