Synopsis
At her request, Tsai Ming-Liang captures Taiwanese “Moon Singer” Lee Pei-Jing’s routine of physical rehabilitation. Confined to a wheelchair for more than 40 years, she has begun to feel pain in her lower body again. In keeping with Tsai’s latest feature film Days (2020), this portrait of old age, waning stardom, and the frailty of the human body is juxtaposed with the story of Chang Feng, an actor reaching the venerable age of trees. Screens with The Night, Tsai’s nocturnal stroll through a weary Causeway Bay, in November 2019. Director
