That Kind of Summer(HKIFF46)

Invited to take part in a rehabilitative programme in rural Québec, three nymphomaniac women attempt to understand and control their impulses with the help of a therapist and a perceptive social worker. Provocateur Denis Côté (Social Hygiene, 45th) crafts a knowingly intimate, dialogue-driven huis-clos. Confrontational, yet never gratuitous, the project unfolds out of a desire to portray sex on screen as a new form of psychological realism; through which characters can come alive, and lay bare their inner demons.
