Synopsis
"In a gender-swapped riff on Fassbinder’s The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, Ozon uncannily returns the psychosexual melodrama to its presumed origin, unveiling an account of the German maverick’s own love entanglement. The sexual power play is reconstructed in the florid apartment of a famous filmmaker, who becomes inundated by his doomed affair with a bewitching young actor.
