To the Sea focuses on the intimacy between mother and son and portrays the desolation and sufferings of the unfortunate. Can You Hear Me? is about Jhong’s family who never paid much attention to what Jhong had to say can finally hear his mind now that he is dead. Plain Sailing is more than an ordinary boy-meets-girl story: a contemplation of trauma, longing and the individual’s responsibility in a tumultuous epoch. Jiejie is a precursor to American Girl (2021) and excels at observing minute details in the household.
