Based on the Russian literary classic and opera of the same name, THE NOSE OR THE CONSPIRACY OF MAVERICKS is a film that must be seen to be understood. When Major Kovalev loses his nose, it gains a life of its own. His search for it takes him through the history of the 20th century and reflects on the relation between government and culture. Using cut-outs, live-action collages, and stop-motion, this film is a retro visual extravaganza as crazy as its surreal story.
