Synopsis

In her 40s, single and holding up an unremarkable job at a small publishing company, Yoshiko finds contentment by appreciating the small things in life and writing her every little thought in her diary. However, her simple life is turned upside down when she starts dating a man 24 years her junior. Based on a novel by popular comedian Jiro, director Ooku Akiko’s latest exploration of life as a single woman in the big city is a delightful character study that charms its audiences with simple, yet acute observations of urban life. In her most enchanting performance to date, Kuroki Haru steals the show as Yoshiko’s extroverted and adorably caring co-worker.
