Synopsis
Official Selection – In Competition, Cannes Film Festival, 1964Pierre, a middle-aged well-known publisher and lecturer, is married with a daughter. While traveling to Lisbon to give a lecture, Pierre has a one night stand with Nicole, an air stewardess. He is infatuated with her and they even travel to Reims together. Pierre hides the affair from his family, mostly to spare his daughter the anguish of a separation. Nicole is taking the affair lightly but Pierre, misunderstanding her feelings, decides to live with her.
