The Rope Curse(HKAFF 2018)

Taiwan urban legends suppose that when someone commits suicide by hanging, a curse remains in the rope. A ritual to burn the rope must be performed in order to eliminate the curse, and anyone who even looks at the burning may be cursed. Director Liao Shih-han brings this controversial ritual to the big screen in this atmospheric and terrifying thrill ride. Looking for clicks, Internet vlogger Jia-wei travels to Changhua to capture the ritual on video. But when the ritual is ruined by a supernatural force, he opens up a decade-long grudge involving his girlfriend Shu-yi that must be resolved once and for all.
