Synopsis
Nominated for Best Original Screenplay, Best Leading Actress and Best Supporting Actress, Golden Horse AwardsJapanese director Iwai Shunji makes his Chinese-language debut with this transcendent love story, produced by Hong Kong director Peter Chan. Seemingly a nostalgic callback to Iwai’s own 1995 classic Love Letter, the elegant Last Letter stars Zhou Xun, a woman who reunites with a man from her past when she attends a school reunion on behalf of her late sister. The reunion eventually leads to an exchange of letters that gives her new insight into a side of her sister’s life that she’d never known.
