Synopsis
“Film has sort of… taken hold of me”An auteur from a small town in Texas, Richard Linklater shares his humble and profound visions in Dream is Destiny. Director of Slacker, Dazed and Confused, the Before trilogy, and Boyhood, Linklater is called the master of indie films.
In 1993, Linklater released Dazed and Confused, a rock-n-roll comedy film that remains a cult favourite today. Set in the 1970s, the film, starring Matthew McConaughey, Milla Jovovich and Ben Affleck, artfully brings back the 70s vibe. In 2014, Linklater presented Boyhood, a masterpiece he shot for several days each year for twelve years, capturing the natural progress of time. Starring Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke, the film was critically acclaimed for its poetic time lapse, weaving together dreams and reality.
