An intimate portrait of the fashion designer Dries Van Noten, Dries offers an insight into the life, mind and creative heart of the enigmatic figure who believes the magic of fashion is that people can feel the creators’ honesty and passion. For the first time, Dries Van Noten allows a filmmaker to accompany him in his creative process.

Entering Van Noten’s house and garden, Holzmer had the impression of entering another world. A man of mystery, Van Noten is renowned for his perfection and concentration. His designs are unique and colourful, an elusive freedom of beauty combined with the rigour of obsession. He often finds his inspiration in artists’ work, for example Pina Bausch’s ballets, Oscar Wilde’s novels or David Bowie’s music.
