Synopsis

Taki, a police investigator, is working a case that repeatedly brings him face-to-face with Windy, an old flame who is a powerful half-human, half-demon shapeshifter known as a Rapter. Soon, Taki is caught in the struggle between humans and Rapters. This film, adapted from the Japanese anime of the same name, is set in Hong Kong prior to the 1997 handover. It combines elements of science fiction, action, and romance with a distinctive cinematographic style to present an urban world in which humans and demons are difficult to tell apart. The result is a portrayal of the unease that characterised Hong Kong during the transition period.
