Unspoken happen during the 1979 wave of protests for independence demonstrations by Croatian immigrants in Australia. Marina, a Croatian, is secretly in love with her Australian boyfriend. One day, she goes to her boyfriend's house for lunch with his parents, but their conflicting political views leave a bad taste in their mouths. Meanwhile, her brothers participate in the protests, with one ending up behind bars and the other returning home injured. Their father is furious. In face of opposing opinions, how will Marina handle her situation? Homecoming and Going is an expression of director own feelings after going through the same journey. She carefully inserts daily life details to show the cultural differences and reflects on the faint sadness of exchanging fates. 28 uses an Asian woman’s perspective to explore the clash between humanism and gentrification. Featuring Golden Horse nominee Elizabeth TANG and artist Sammi MAK in leading roles, the film deromanticises the situation of Hong Kongers living in a foreign land. Genealogy of Violence based on the real life experience of director’s friend, the film uses psychedelic electronic music and mysterious special effects to construct a stream of consciousness world, bluntly explaining how institutional violence deprives the body of autonomy.
# The short film Genealogy of Violence contains several sequences with flashing lights that may affect those who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy or have other photo-sensitives.
