Synopsis

While researching his drag-themed comedy Number 1, director Ong Kuo Sin met Singaporean drag performer Christopher Lim (a.k.a. Sammi Zhen), whose real-life story became the basis for the compelling comedy-drama A Good Child. Rising star Richie Koh stars as Jia Hao, a sassy drag queen who returns home to his ailing mother Ju Hua (Golden Horse-nominated Hong Hui Fang of Ajooma) when she’s diagnosed with dementia. One day, when Ju Hua is confused at seeing Jia Hao in drag, he introduces himself as Ju Hua’s long-lost daughter, starting a deception that proves humorous, heartbreaking and even healing to the estranged mother and son.
