Synopsis

Pema lives with her three husbands - Tashi and his two younger brothers, in a polyandrous village in the Nepalese Himalayas, but in fact, she is only romantically involved with Tashi. After leaving for a trading trip to Lhasa, Tashi does not return. While Pema is expecting a new life, there are rumours concerning the legitimacy of the unborn child. To prove her love to Tashi, she decides to set out on an arduous journey to look for him. A follow-up to the critically acclaimed The Black Hen, Min Bahadur Bham’s second feature is the first Nepalese film in the Berlinale Competition section.
