Synopsis

In the midst of the Second World War, long trains carry their cargo of innocent souls to hell. One day, a father is desperate to save at least one of his babies, and a pink, wriggling bundle falls from a leaded wagon. A poor woodcutter and his wife rescue the baby girl, bringing irrevocable change to their lives, and to those whose paths the child will cross. Their story will bring out the worst and the best in human hearts.
