Synopsis

Co-directed by a Palestinian and an Israeli, Route 181 is an archeological travelogue and historical recount that attempts to bring understandings back to disputes through interviewing Israelis and Palestinians of different backgrounds and positions the two met along the borders outlined in Resolution 181 partitioning Palestine into two states. Through a grassroot’s perspective and oral histories, it redefines geography and reveals the true nature of the Israeli-Palestinian situation. By tracing the origins of different voices and positions, it explores the choices and thoughts of ordinary people amid nearly a century of confIict and irreversible traumas. This archaeological journey through history remains an enlightening and accessible entry point for understanding the Israeli-Palestinian context.
