Synopsis

As he nears the end of his mandatory ten-year military service, North Korean sergeant Lim Kyu-nam is determined to defect to the South for a new life. His perilous bid to cross the DMZ is complicated by two variables: a fellow soldier who wants to join him, and a relentless field officer who will stop at nothing to thwart his escape. Anchored by strong performances from Taxi Driver’s Lee Je-hoon and D.P.’s Koo Kyo-hwan, Lee Jong- pil’s deftly paced high-concept thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat with a gripping cat-and-mouse chase from the tense environs of the military base to the desperate break for freedom through forests, fields and gunfire.
