This hybrid documentary explores the often-hushed narrative of transgender men developing an attraction to other men after coming out. As 60-year-old Iranian-British transman Ahmad delves into the LGBTQ+ archives, he embarks on a time-travelling quest to unravel his own sexual desires. Interweaving archival gems and contemporary oral histories the film highlights the diverse experiences of transgender men across the UK and North America as they navigate gender and sexuality. Pushing against binary notions of identity and genre DESIRE LINES embraces bewilderment as a liberatory strategy for trans representation, illuminating the complexities of desire and gender.
