In a deceptively tranquil village on the Mekong Delta where the old patriarchal ways still reign, three women grapple with the men to whom they are bound. Hau is married to the distant Duong, whose love for childhood friend Nhan is an open village secret, while the middle-aged Loan thirsts for revenge against the man who raped her as a child. As the women drift through their lives, their quietly burning discontent and disconnection surge to the surface. Based on the short stories of internationally-celebrated writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu.
