Synopsis

One of the most influential Japanese anime of all time, Mamoru Oshii’s 1995 visionary sci-fi thriller was an astonishing global sensation that radically changed the look of the sci-fi and cyberpunk genres forever.
In the year 2029, advances in cybernetic technology have allowed people to replace body parts with robotic ones. Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg agent working for the government, and her team are tasked to track down a notorious hacker known as “The Puppetmaster”. However, what started as a simple manhunt leads to Kusanagi discovering the shocking truth about the very essence of sentient existence.
