Synopsis

Seven years after his blockbuster sensation MONKEY KING: HERO IS BACK, director Tian Xiaopeng's long-awaited follow-up film wowed audiences at this year's Berlin International Film Festival with a vivid new vision of a fantasy realm. Made with a dream-like effect reminiscent of Chinese ink painting, the film follows a young girl who accidentally falls into the sea during a stormy night. Led by a sea spirit, she is brought into a dreamy underwater world in which the "Deep Sea Restaurant" sits. It is here that the girl begins to navigate between dreams and reality, as well as life and death.
