Synopsis

In the early 1990s, the Chinese men's table tennis team was at a dark place. Its main rival, the Swedish team, had newer strategies and techniques. At this crucial point, the head coach was ordered to form a new team — a wounded lead, a lost veteran, a near-sighted chopper and the twins who had never played at major games, the new team was dubbed the“Five Tiger Generals". Facing many challenges and questions from inside and out, the coach persisted and led a series of reformation. Eventually, the unfavored Five Tigers fought back, won the Swaythling Cup and returned to the top.
