Synopsis
Handsome Fei moves to big city Beijing to work as a hustler, and as a dutiful son, he sends money he earned to his family who lives in a small rural village. However, he becomes disappointed and disillusioned when he realises his conservative family accepts his earnings but not his homosexuality. Broken-hearted, Fei seeks a new chapter in love and tries to create a new beginning with his life. This tender and stylish film gives us a glimpse into the secretive world of male sex workers or ‘moneyboys’ in China. It was an Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival, and was nominated for three awards including the Golden Camera, Queer Palm and Un Certain Regard Award. Director
