Synopsis

Single mother Nikuko is an easy-going, cheerful, and passionate woman, but she is also gullible and always falls for the bad guy. While her daughter, Kikuko, is her opposite in many ways. After constantly being hurt by men, Nikuko has settled down in a fishing port of northern Japan with Kikuko. Kikuko is now 11-year-old and on the verge of puberty. She starts to feel embarrassing because of Nikuko's behavior like any preteen would. While Kikuko tries hard to deal with the everyday social dramas in school and blend in, a shocking revelation from the past threatens to uproot their tender relationship….
