Rose, 78, can do nothing without her husband. When this latter passes away, she feels like her life can no longer go on. As her daughter can no longer bear her mother’s hopelessness, she takes Rose to a dinner, where she meets a holocaust survivor. Rose suddenly realises that this is not the end of her life - she can still redefine herself as a woman. The whole balance of the family will be upset.
