Directors Mag Hsu and Hsu Chih-yen follow their sleeper hit Dear Ex with another offbeat tale of modern love. Chin-chin is a workaholic whose emotional scars have made her the Manager From Hell. When her estranged half-brother Chih-yang, one of two people she’s blocked on social media, reveals he may have a serious illness, Chin-chin reluctantly takes him in. However, their combative co-habitation also forces Chin-chin to confront her past near-romance with a former co-worker, the other person she has blocked. Starting as a frantic depiction of modern life in Taipei before reaching its melancholic core, this heartfelt drama shows that severing emotional connections takes more than a click on the “block” button.
