Writer-director Lee Seung-won delivers a demented portrait of a truly dysfunctional family with this thematic continuation to Happy Bus Day. Hee-sook, the eldest of three sisters, is a timid housewife so tightly wound that she can’t even tell her daughter she has cancer. Mi-ok, the youngest, is an alcoholic playwright who doesn’t know how to connect to her husband and stepson. While trying to maintain her sisters’ sanity ahead of a family reunion, the devoutly Christian middle sister Mi-yeon sees her own picture-perfect life derailed when she discovers her husband’s infidelity. Wickedly hilarious and unexpectedly sweet, this is one of the best Korean comedies you’ll see this year.
