Based on a true story, Firebird tells the story of a forbidden love triangle set at a Soviet Air Force base during the paranoia of the Cold War. Sergey, a troubled soldier who is counting the days until his military service ends, has his life turned upside down when Roman, a daring young fighter pilot, arrives at the base. The two explore the precarious line between friendship and love, and embark on a dangerous relationship with Luisa, secretary to the base Commander. As an escalating KGB investigation looms, they risk their freedom and their lives for love.
