Synopsis

A Distant Place is a subtle and elegant drama, which explores the theme of same sex parenthood in rural Korea. Jin-woo lives on a sheep ranch in peaceful co-existence with his sister’s daughter, Seol, and his lover, Hyun Min. One day his sister Eun-young appears out of the blue, and insists on bringing Seol back to her life in the city. Unwilling to give his beloved niece back to his sister, Jin-woo tries to reason with her. However, this upsets Eun-young who threatens to destroy the tranquility the couple have enjoyed in their cozy lives.
