Tragedy brings Caz Davis back to his hometown of Rūrang. Here he hopes to reconnect with those that he left behind when he transitioned into a trans man. Caz’s father, Gerlad, battles to understand and accept a trans son who didn’t show at his own mother’s funeral, and his erstwhile best friend also struggles to embrace Caz after he left town without any notice. Most affected, though, is Caz’s ex-boyfriend, as he tries to understand and forgive the person with whom he planned a future, and work out if he is attracted to the man who has returned in her place.
