Synopsis

At the dawn of the millennium, a nation collapsed. The unemployment rate is more than 15%, over 10 million citizens were out of work. At the same time, 800 thousand students boycotted school and the juvenile delinquency have surged. Adult lost confidence and fearing the youth. In order to regain their dignity, the government eventually passed the Millennium Educational Reform Act, aka BR Act, to control youngster with fear of death.

One day, a group of 9th graders from Shiroiwa Junior High School is randomly chosen as the experimental class of BR Act. They are hijacked to fight the Battle Royale on a desert island and only one can survive. Terror and panic challenge the students’ fragile trust in each other. Is there any way to save the whole class? Or do killing each other is the only way to survive? No time to hesitate, the brutal game now begins!
