    Synopsis
Oliver Laxe’s third feature sees the French director return to his ancestral home – Galicia, in northwestern Spain – to conjure a film about lush, green landscapes threatened by fiery, crimson flames. Amador, a man recently released from prison after serving time for arson, returns to his Galician hometown to live with his mother and their three cows in their simple homestead. His serene life is shaken by a chance encounter with a woman and an inferno sweeping through the region. Filming on 16mm, Laxe has delivered a textured, trembling look at the beauty and danger of rural life and nature. Director
