Synopsis

Stine is a hairdresser struggling with the early stages of Alzheimer’s. Her life changes when she is suddenly asked to look after her granddaughter Romy (Vita Heijmen): as she loses her grapple with the here and now, the table is turned as she becomes the cared-for rather than carer. The bond between grandmother and granddaughter grows stronger as Stine becomes sweeter and more easy-going than before, as she recounts tales of her childhood in Denmark. Romy helps grandma run the salon the best she can, but when they can no longer manage together, Romy comes up with a plan to realise her grandma’s wish. Melissen and Heijmen’s chemistry drives Mischa Kamp’s heart-warming family drama along, offering a sensitive take of an inter-generational, cross-boundary story.
