    Synopsis
Veteran Swede filmmaker Hannes Holm follows up his Oscar-nominated A Man Called Ove with this sweeping biopic of the beloved Swedish pop-star Ted Gärdestad. Reuniting with his regular cinematographer Göran Hallberg, Holm unfurls the three tumultuous and tragic decades making up the life of Gärdestad, one of the best-known singer-songwriters to emerge from Scandinavia in the 1970s and, next to ABBA, the most profitable artist signed to the legendary Swedish label Polar Music. Anchored by the remarkable turns of actor-musician Adam Pålsson as a mentally ill heartthrob countering his own popularity across the nation, and Peter Viitanen as Ted’s overshadowed sibling and lyricist, Holm’s film is stratospheric – no less because of the screenplay from Peter Birro, who also scripted Waltz for Monica, the hit biopic of Swedish jazz singer Monica Zetterlund. Director
Hannes Holm | Cast | Adam Palsson, Hanna Alstrom, Peter Viitanen, Happy Jankell |
