How do you cope with a secret that conflicts with everything you live by? Eighteen-year-old troublemaker Andrej is admitted to a youth detention centre, where aggressive masculinity reigns supreme. Befriending the centre’s de facto gang leader, Andrej is drawn into a debauched lifestyle of sex and drugs, finding himself coerced into violence in protection of his deepest fragility. Consequences, or “Posledice”, is a story of self-awareness under brutal pressure, featuring a stellar script based on first-hand experience in Slovenian youth detention centres. Written and directed by Ljubljana-based Darko Štante: a committed social worker and rising star in Eastern European cinema.
