This programme features filmmakers from the Singapore-based collective 13 Little Pictures, whose works explore history, nationhood, and various states of being Singaporean through acts of storytelling. It begins with Liao Jiekai’s “Silent Light”, a meditation on the passing of a generation shot on expired 16mm film, and continues with Daniel Hui’s award-winning “Snakeskin”, a work that incisively reflects on the fusion of history, memory, and personal truths.
